Spay - Neuter
By having your pet spayed/neutered you will have taken a major step in the role of responsible pet ownership. You will help to control pet overpopulation by preventing unwanted puppies and kittens. You will also reduce or eliminate the possibility of your pet developing certain diseases such as breast cancer, uterine disease, mastitis, ovarian cancer, testicular cancer, and prostate cancer.

We encourage you to continue your job as a responsible pet owner by establishing a relationship with a local veterinarian. Regular veterinary care is an important part of maintaining a healthy pet. Your veterinarian is a valuable source of information about health care issues such as vaccinations, heartworms, intestinal parasites, fleas and ticks, dentistry, nutrition, behavior, and other medical concerns. Regular wellness visits to your veterinarian can help prevent problems from developing and will ensure that your pet has a long, healthy life.

The Veterinary Medical Association of Bexar County is a founding partner and continuing supporter of the Animal Resource Center. We encourage you to make an appointment with one of these veterinarians for an examination and advice on the continuing health care of your pet.
