San Antonio Feral Cat Coalition

San Antonio Feral Cat Coalition is a 501(c)(3) Nonprofit Corporation formed to help people involved with managing feral/outdoor/free-roaming cats. These cats can reproduce quickly and so if you are concerned, and especially if you are feeding outdoor cats, they can help.

Do you need help with Feral Cats?

To qualify for the advantages of access to low-cost spay/neuter surgeries, free trap loan and advice on how to control the outdoor cat population humanely - you must first attend a FREE Trap, Neuter, Return (TNR) workshop. The workshop also gives safety tips on how to complete your TNR project without getting hurt. You only need to attend ONE workshop ONCE, to qualify to use our program. Once you attend, there is no need to attend a second time, unless you want to. Please refer their website www.sanantonioferalcats.org.

Traps

The SAFCC offers free loan of their traps once you have completed the TNR Workshop. Loans are for 2 weeks and require a $65 deposit per trap, refunded upon return. Checks for deposit can be made out to SAFCC. They do not take credit cards. To be refunded the full deposit, traps must be cleaned prior to return with any cleaner except bleach (causes rust). Up to 3 traps can be checked out at a time, depending on their limited inventory. For large colony projects, speak with your Workshop Instructor or Trap Loan Volunteer.

Spay/Neuter for Feral Cats

Once you've attended the TNR Workshop with the San Antonio Feral Cat Coalition, you're eligible to receive a discounted feral cat spay/neuter package. This package includes the sterilization, Rabies vaccine, Feline Distemper vaccine, a dose of Ivermectin, and the ear tip. Tuesday thru Saturday no appointment is necessary. Just print off the intake form on the appointment page and come on in! The drop off time is from 6:30am to 8am and the cat must be in a feral cat trap.

Contact the San Antonio Feral Cat Coalition

SAFCC has the only 24/7 Helpline in San Antonio dedicated to outside cats. A pre-recorded message will ask the caller to leave their name, number and reason for calling. One of their Volunteers will then return the call. They make every effort to return calls within 24 hours however some of the Helpline Volunteers work full time. Some calls ask to come pick up cats or are seeking help for sick or injured cats. Please note they are not a rescue organization. They can, however, educate, give advice, and refer callers to an appropriate resource, as necessary. If you would like to contact us in writing, our address is: San Antonio Feral Cat Coalition P.O. Box 692308 San Antonio, TX 78269-2308
